Paige is turning into a fantastic jennet. She's gorgeous, nice and straight, has a short back, round rear and perfect bite. Her pedigree is full both top and bottom and is filled with reds and small sizes. At this point I can't find anything to fault her on. She is maturing into quite the little package, keeping her small size, thick build and excellent conformation. On top of all that, she is friendly as can be. We are proud to call her one of our girls.

Izzy is a gorgeous charcoal gray, sometimes brown jennet who we are happy to have retained in our herd. She started off as a deep, dark brown, but it seems as though now most of the time she is a deep, dark gray. In some light though, she is brown. Whatever the color, she is one of the stockiest donkeys we own, built like a little tank with the widest chest and thickest legs I think I've ever seen. On top of all that, she is friendly and fun to be around. We are pround Izzabelle calls Shorecrest Farms her home!

Caroline was so very tiny when she was a foal that we decided to name her in honor of my 4 foot 10 inch mom, "Carol"! Don't worry, my mom is honored to have this little donkey be her namesake! Caroline is a perfect little package -- great pedigree, awesome square build, and the classic gray color that we find many of our customers prefer because, they say, when they imagine having a little donkey, gray is what they think of! We expect Caroline to mature around the 32" mark. Her dam, Peep, is one of our best producers and happens to be the eldest donkey in our herd and a Charlie Bandito daughter, making Caroline a Charlie Bandito grand-daughter. We've kept Peep around for a reason, and little Caroline is the perfect example of why. Through her sire Caroline carries bloodlines of Lawzyday Cherokee & Sugar Daddy, LCR Valintino 50 and even LN Redsonnehi. Caroline is a wonderful example of some of those old favorite tried and true bloodlines brought together in one tiny package. We look forward to seeing what her foals will be like one day soon and are proud to call her one of our own!

Little Sara is a gorgeous light pink/red jennet foal. She has a nice pedigree behind her, on both top and bottom, including Fisher's breeding on her dam's side. Fisher's Ghost is Sara's great grandsire through her dam and Lawzyday Farm's Cherokee is her grandsire through her sire. Sara has a wealth of small sizes and reds in her background and should mature out to 32" - 33". Sara is keeping her stocky build and excellent conformation as she matures. We look forward to adding her to our brood band in 2011.

Ellie is a gorgeous jennet weanling with wonderful conformation and the personality of a chocolate lab! Ellie has exceptional bloodlines in her background, and although her mother is on the taller side, Ellie's sire, Buddy, brings in a wealth of small heights (all the way down to 29.5") that likely will influence Ellie's foals size-wise come breeding age.

Carrying Dewey Meadows and LCR bloodlines on her dam's side, combined with predominantly LN and Lawzyday breeding on her sire's side, this foal has a bright breeding future ahead of her. Ellie would also be a good candidate as a cart donkey for someone since both mom and dad have nice, stocky builds. Ellie is a sweetheart, and like all of our donkeys, she is looking for a new home with at least one other donkey as a friend. She is registered through the Miniature Donkey Registry in Texas.

Torrie is a sweet little jennet, very tiny, petite and feminine. She has the prettiest head and expressive eyes. She'll climb right up onto your lap for your attention. Gray in color for now, but she does have brown through her coat. I expect her to mature around 32" or so. She has a full pedigree with many notable ancestors throughout, including LCR Valentino 50, LN Redsonnehi, and grandsire Lawzyday Farms Cherokee. Her background is strong with sorrels on her sires side and blacks and dark browns on her dam's side most in the 29.5" to 32" range. I've been waiting for a spotted jennet from Betsy ever since we purchased her... and this little girl was worth the wait! Gypsy is gorgeous from her head to her hooves and everything in between. I don't think I've ever seen a prettier head on a foal and she is the first tri-color spot we've produced. Photos make it hard to tell, but in person Gypsy has gray legs but her body color is sorrel, and her white spots set it all off perfectly. Combine her unique coloring with her solid pedigree and great build, and she is very near "perfect". Sorry to say, but at this time we've decided to retain this fabulous jennet as a future Shorecrest brood jennet!

Dora is just as her name describes her, ADORABLE!! My 7 year old son named her for us when she was just a few hours old. He kept saying "she's adorable... she's just so adorable!".... Dora is tiny, and we expect her to remain tiny as mom and dad are both small, well built and stocky. We decided to keep Dora here with us as a future brood jennet because she is just that good. We have watched her progress and cannot fault her in any way. She is also a farm favorite here, as she's followed in her mom's hoofprints by learning to scoot herself underneath our fencing at will. Jessica and Dora have found themselves lifelong homes here with us as our animated lawn ornaments that like to greet visitors, literally, with a 'hoofshake' at their car door.

Breeding Status: Dora was exposed to Tyger throughout 2006. She appears to be in foal, however, we are not certain. We will watch her closely and hopefully she will have her first foal before the end of 2007!

This little jennet is put together like a little tank! Her color is very unique -- not the typcial black, but more of a black cherry coloring, especially around her face where sorrel coloring is very apparant. Her mom, Kandi, was bay/brown when we purchased her with sorrel highlights on her face, but as she's matured, she's turned into a gorgeous sorrel. This little one also has a jam-packed pedigree, which includes donkeys like Valintino 50, LN Redsonnehi and LN Nighthawk. She's got a rainbow of colors in there too, lots of sorrels, browns, blacks and spots and many ancestors are 32" or under. Kandace has the prettiest head and her build is perfect, squarer than square and back legs are terrific too. If all of that wasn't enough, she's got the prettiest trot I've ever seen on a donkey. She holds her head up high and brings those knees up and I swear she holds her tail up too just like our Arabian horses! I think she's been watching them too much! Kandace will be staying here with us as a future brood jennet. At almost 14 months of age, Kandace is smaller than my 4 and 5 month old weanlings, and has kept her perfect conformation at that. We cannot fault her and are excited about the possibilities she may bring to our future breeding program.

Breeding Status: Kandace has been exposed to Tyger since 11/5/06. We have not seen her come back in season, so we are hopeful that she has settled for a late 2007 or early 2008 foal. Time will tell! This will be her first foal.

Bee was born here on our farm and through the years we've watched her grow into a really nice brood jennet. Bee was born jet black with no cross and only had a smidge of white on the tip of her nose for quite some time (click here for her baby picture). Now, as an adult, she has kept her black color, but does have a visible cross. And her nose? We were surprised to see the white surround the top part of her muzzle around 2 years of age. Regardless of how she has changed, we are happy to have her in our herd and are excited to see what she is capable of producing in future years.

Breeding Status:  Bewitched was bred to our jack, Buddy, throughout 2006 and had her very first foal, a dark brown jack named BeDeviled, on 7/10/07!

Calli is a gorgeous jennet, so uniquely colored, especially around her face and the tyger spotting on her body sets her apart as well. She reminds me so much of a smudged up calico cat! Some of her spots look black, some brown. Combining her with our new upcoming tyger spotted jack "Tyger" when both are old enough, should produce a super duper tyger spotted baby!

Breeding Status: Callie was bred to our jack, Buddy, and foaled a gorgeous spotted jennet foal, Camouflauge, on 6/5/07! This was her first foal.

Jetta and her friend, Flame, are joined at the hip. Jetta is just as gorgeous as Flame with her pretty red color. She also has a unique personality. "The two redheads" both think they are the queens of the pasture and deserve royal treatment from everyone at all times. We are also very happy to have her join our herd and feel she will greatly improve upon our foals with her future offspring.

Dolly was purchased and added to our brood band early in 2006. At this time, Dolly is our only donkey who carries an unverified pedigree. It is rare for us to add a jennet to our herd without knowing any of her history, but Dolly's conformation and build compiled with her loving personality and beautiful markings made the decision to add her much easier. Although we've been trying to track her history down through the farm that originally registered her (TST), we've had no luck reaching them to pinpoint Dolly's parentage to date. Regardless, we were very happy with Dolly's first foal for us, and are anticipating something special from her crossed with our jack, Buddy.

Breeding Status: Dolly foaled a light red jack for us on 9/14/06, Jimi Hendrix. She was hand bred to our jack, Buddy, on 10/25/06, and we have not seen her come back in season. She appears to be in foal and we anticipate a late October 2007 foal!

Lacy is a beautiful girl just added to our herd at the start of 2007. She is gray dun but carries a red cast particuliarly in her summer coat. Her pedigree boasts small sizes ranging from 30.5" to 34". She is a Fisher's Ghost granddaughter, linking her to M&M Eric the Red and LCR Valintino 50. Her past is packed with Fisher's breeding on her dam's side, which puts multiple frosted spotted whites in her blood. Her sire's side brings in more color with her sire, grandsire and greatgrandsire all being red. Lacy has had exceptional foals in the past, one of which was Maplewood's 27 Mojave. who is currently being used as a herdsire in northcentral Pennsylvania.

Meet Angel! Beautiful doesn't begin to describe this girl. She's very well built, nice short back, round rear, gorgeous small head..All this plus she's black as night! Betty Jane has proved to be a valuable brood jennet for us the past several years. She is a great size, at 31", and has given us to date 3 perfect foals with awesome color and conformation. Betty Jane has produced two sorrel and white spotted foals in the past when bred to a sorrel jack (she has two red grandparents who apparently are throwing their genes onto their grandkids!). Her foals are always tiny and straight, we look forward to Betty Jane's future babies.

Shania had the honor of becoming the very first spotted jennet to be added to our herd, thanks to my wonderful web master, Dayle!! Shania is not intimidated by much of anything, and pretty much gets to do whatever she sets her mind to! Shania loves her treats, grain is even better, but getting to go roam around the backyard is her favorite thing to do.  Shania's pedigree is packed on her sire's side, going back to Luigi and various other imported donkeys multiple times. In all, she boasts 112 traceable ancestors, has a nice square build and very good rear legs.

Lucy is a terrific, tiny, compact donkey. She is super stocky and couldn't be friendlier or easier to handle. Lucy has a wonderful pedigree on her sire's side, including Man-O-War of M&M, M&M Vanilla Ice Cream, and Domonic (IMPORT) with colors including black/brown, spotted and frosted spotted white. Lucy is the mother of our little very dark brown jennet, Cori.

Murphy is such a loveable and unique jennet. She is easy to spot out in the pasture because she has a mane texture like that of a horse. She also likes to stand up on her hind legs to look out over top of the stall which normally scares the daylights out of who ever may be on the other side! Murphy's got a wonderful personality, nice conformation and her pedigree contains several imports including Belmont's Platero, Flora, and Fedora.

Sometimes naming foals can get a bit challenging, but Jodie's name came about very easily. Jessica and her half brother, Barney, were the two donkeys that started it all for us, and I can guarantee Jessica has earned herself a lifelong home here!  She is a very small, stocky jennet with perfect conformation from head to toe and has a terrific personality.  Jessica is our escape artist -- she can scoot out under any fence in any of our pastures at any time and travels back and forth between the pasture and yard at will.  We call her our animated lawn ornament!  She uses the bushes for her scratching post, the flowers as her snack (mums are yum-yum!), and even 'helps' by taking the laundry off the clothes line!  Jessica has some wonderful ancestors and a rainbow of colors in her pedigree, which contains 206 known ancestors tracing back to a variety of original imports.

Breeding Status:  Jessica foaled a tiny gray jennet, Shorecrests Lil Annie, on 8-21-03. Jessica was rebred to our sorrel herd sire, Shorecrest Buddy, in September, 2003 and surprised us with an early baby this year, Shorecrests Adorable, a sweet 20" jennet foal on August 13, 2004.
